As the kind of Beatles fan who would travel to Liverpool just because it’s where the “Fab Four” are from I could probably happily make a list of my top fifty Beatles songs which is exactly what makes it so hard to select only seven for this list. What follows is the best I can do.
Happiness is a Warm Gun – The Beatles self-titled album which is better known as The White Album is filled with wonderful songs, and this is one of them.
A Day in the Life – This song is brilliant. I can’t even conceive of anyone else besides the Beatles coming up with this.
I Am The Walrus – To some people this is a step too far but it’s actually the song that first made me into a fan of The Beatles. It’s still among my very favorites.
Let It Be – “Let It Be” isn’t just one of the best Beatles songs ever, it’s one of the best songs ever by anyone.
She Said She Said – Great “acid rock” classic with a cool guitar riff and great lyrics. This song arguably invented the genre.
Tomorrow Never Knows – This is probably the most experimental recording The Beatles ever did. Even 45 years later it still sounds fresh.
Day Tripper – One of the most awesome guitar riffs ever, and some fun lyrics too.
